LAST SEASON:

2005 results: 3-8-17; 17 points; -24 diff; 12th place; missed playoffs
RD's 2005 prediction: 9-4-15, 7th place

Toronto managed three measly wins – two of which came during the six-match midseason stint of current Rochester forward Charles Gbeke – and closed out the campaign with an ominous 0-3-9 freefall.  The Lynx came within one strike of allowing twice as many goals as they scored.  There’s just no good way to spin this data, as Toronto finished with the worst A-League/USL D1 record since the 2003 Indiana Blast.  On the plus side, there’s (mostly) nowhere to go but up.

THE LOWDOWN:

Basically, Toronto lost the few good things they had, and replaced them with a bunch of kids from the CPSL.  This isn’t rebuilding – it’s throwing kittens into a den of lions.  The Lynx will be the worst team in the league once again, and should threaten the 2000 Connecticut Wolves for the all-time worst record (target: 1-8-19).  Sounds like a great way to gear up for the impending arrival of MLS, guys!

RD's 2006 prediction: 2-4-22; 12th place and out of playoff contention
